MORE INFO: "MALVARMA"

NOTE: This isn't a power update, but rather I have something regarding the identity of the Daemon (who previously went unnamed in the original app) that Marise had tried contracting and I'm going to put that info here, mainly so it's in a place where I can't just change anything without it being noticed by somebody. There are currently no plans to actually NPC them, though that may change in the future.

Malvarma is a centuries-old Daemon, relatively young compared to some others, that takes the appearance of a slender girl with pale skin, long white hair, pointed ears, piercing blue eyes, and a pair of horns that reach just past the top of her head (looking quite a bit like Desidera, actually, except with the opposite colors). In this form, she usually wears blue dresses with white flowers as accessories. Her body is cold to the touch; not warm, not even just average, actually cold. Not too much is known about her, but what is known is that she is a bit of a wanderer, and that she's a strange Daemon that acts more like she were Fae than anything else; unless responding to perceived offenses, many of the things she does are without any real malice, and are simply to entertain herself or otherwise alleviate boredom. She loves playing games or taking challenges, but she absolutely will cheat at them when possible if not kept in check somehow.

One of her favorite kinds of entertainment, however, is one that most would find generally unpleasant. She is not actively malicious as she doesn't seek to harm or kill others, but when anyone tries to contract with her, she loves twisting words and their meanings to trick them with into agreeing to one thing while thinking that they're agreeing to another; a mage seeking more power might instead see that power granted to their child or children instead, but it would also be done in such a way that they become something that's only partly human or even barely human at all—Desidera herself is a good example of this. Malvarma typically does not immediately consider how her actions would impact them; why would she? they're still alive, so it's fine. Typically, but not always, Malvarma's amusement is considered payment enough for any contracts that she deliberately twists into something else, and rarely will she make any additional demands of the contractor or those who were affected by the contract itself.

She does not consider any of this to be a harmful act; granting power to others with no real strings attached is totally harmless and a pretty good deal, right? Right?? Well, it's technically harmless if you can keep your newly-acquired Daemonic side under control, but that's your problem, not hers. (Though she would be interested in seeing how you manage it.)

Her contracts are entirely verbal, making her an excellent example of GET THAT SHIT IN WRITING AND DOUBLE-CHECK IT YOU DUMBASS, but her insistence that she doesn't really need anything in return for her services (with a unspoken "I find doing this kind of thing really funny and honestly that's good enough") does make it awfully tempting to just go for it.

Due to how her actions don't really benefit herself in the typical sense but can still potentially be seen as beneficial to the people she deals with, Malvarma's reputation among Daemons that know of her is probably a bit weird, if not somewhat negative at times, due to a perception that what she does amounts to gifting rather than any real sort of exchange like most would expect there to have been. There are some, however, that realize why she does what she does and can respect the fact that she knows what she wants and has figured out a way to get it.

If she is provoked into fighting, she has uncommon strength and sharp reflexes, and wields a variety of powerful ice magic. She also has the ability to manipulate shadows to a very considerable degree, but unlike Desidera she also has the power to create shadows as well, rather than needing to take control of existing ones. She is susceptible to fire, resistant to wind and darkness, and largely unharmed by ice although it can still potentially hinder her movement.

On the subject of Nightfall, she is presently neutral, but is actually likely to side with Earth, considering it the more-interesting side.
