CLUBS
Log Comm | Network Comm | OOC Comm | Navigation

Players may form their own clubs within Daybreak Academy. Clubs may be formed by any students as desired, while ICly all clubs require at least 5 members and a Faculty advisor, OOCly, a single character may form a club on their own and assume they have NPC students taking part. The Faculty advisor may also be assumed to be an NPC if desired, but we strongly encourage clubs find a PC advisor and PC members wherever possible to facilitate more and varied interactions between characters. The founding PC member of the club will hold the role of club president and be responsible for its administration, although that role can be passed to another PC at the beginning of a new quarter.

Clubs are authorized for a single quarter, after which they must apply for renewal. To be eligible for renewal, a club must conduct one open log during the quarter the club is incorporated. When applying for renewal at the beginning of a new quarter, the club’s president needs to reply to their club post with a link to their club’s log from the prior quarter. Daybreak quarters are October through December, January through March, April through June, and July through September (Summer quarter, which is June through September, does not require a club log to renew as most clubs are inactive for Summer quarter but clubs may still remain active during the summer if desired).

Students are free to join any and all clubs they wish, although we encourage them to coordinate with the club president so they can get involved in club activities.

Clubs have access to their own club room and a "modest" budget (which, given the wealth of the Academy, is equal to several thousand dollars a month). Club rooms and topics are generally not restricted by Academy staff unless things get too out of hand, and clubs are welcome to decorate and maintain their rooms as they wish.

Club Name: The "Other" Club
Club Description: Since non-humans might be feeling out of place in Daybreak (read: the founder himself), here's a club where they can all relate with not really fitting in. It's mostly for the sake of forming friendships within the school, but down the line they may perform outreaches to show people shouldn't judge them from just their appearance. For example volunteer charity drives for the homeless or orphanages, and if ever the occasion arises, figuring out more about themselves in their home countries / the Outlands.
Club Room Description: Starting out, it's an average classroom filled with a hodgepodge of stuff to accommodate different needs. There's chairs of course, but sometimes it'll be a freaking pillow fort sometimes because its president is Leo. There's a second-hand tent for members who prefer to sit in the dark. There's a microwave for heating their snacks and their own cooler. Leo can stretch an already large budget extremely well! He'll be adding things as needed. Depending on the comfort of the members he can comply with having the windows covered up for while meetings are happening.
President: Leo, and though he'll IC-ly want to pass off the role eventually OP won't let him
Members: Tobias, Vivi
Human friends are allowed to drop in, but membership is non-humans only.
Advisor: NPC Advisor for now but seeking a PC one who's ideally also non-human!

Club Name: Cooking Club
Club Description: Exactly what it says on the tin, the cooking club isn't just a place where people can cook together. It's a place where people can share the foods they love, try things that other people love, and generally let food bring people together. Prospective members don't necessarily need to come in knowing how to cook: if they're willing to learn, cooking lessons will be provided. If another club needs food for an event or the like, they can arrange something with the current president to have the Cooking Club provide. Also, expect fundraiser bake sales.
Club Room Description: The club's commandeered a culinary arts classroom for its purposes, which includes two fridges, two sinks and two stoves. There's also plenty of actual cooking equipment such as a large variety of pots and pans for cooking and baking, various utensils, and just... anything you'd find in a standard kitchen at the very least. Also, some of the budget is also going towards ingredients. (Expect more things to be added as the club gains members...)

There's now a notice on one of the walls that anything that registers higher than 350,000 on the Scoville scale is banned from the club room, and that if it's between 50,000 and 350,000 SHU, Becky isn't allowed to touch it.
President: Lia
Members: Recruitment is ongoing! But so far, Lia, Vivi, Leonardo, Becky, Kohaku, Ana, and Adelaide

(Anyone interested in membership or the advisor role, please PM me so I'll be able to edit the comment!)

Club Name: Music Club
Club Description: This is a club for musicians and musical aficionados. It will be organized as a space for people to play together, offer and receive lessons, share and discuss any musical interests with one another, and simply enjoy music. Should any bands properly form, there may be organized performances.
Club Room Description: The club be regularly held in an expanded music classroom, reinforced with runes for better acoustics, while also occasionally migrating to a campus performance hall. The classroom has storage for just about every kind of instrument, with plenty of spares to be borrowed. It is a wealthy school after all. Any equipment anyone could possibly need is in here. There's even an enclosed side room for anyone who might like to go a little hard on the drums, or practice and record anything vocal.

The main central floor is quite large, open to fit a number of instruments and the people playing them. Chairs are stacked on the side, available to be used or kept out of the way depending on the type of practice that's happening.

One corner has been arranged into something of a lounge area with bean bags and comfier seating, mats, rugs, and pillows around on the floor. An old fashioned record player has been hauled in to sit in the corner, a less-old-fashioned boombox with CD player near to it. There's a selection of headphones to borrow and listen more privately if one wishes.

A board on one wall advertises lessons, who's teaching them and what instrument they teach, and when those lessons are available, as well as the dates and times for any upcoming personal performances. There's even space just for some interesting concerts in the area people would like to invite others to join.

The concert hall is exactly what it sounds like. It is occasionally used by theater students and has all the trimmings of that too.

Club Room Description: Ana is reserving a private room in the library every Friday for club meetings and study sessions. The private room looks like a conference room and has a projector + projector screen for presentations. That's about all the equipment they'll need, though. It's very basic!

Club Name: Gaming Club
Club Description: A club for people who like to play games. Although it's mostly video game focused, all games are welcomed. Club meetings usually involve figuring out what games everyone will be bringing, figuring out events, planning fund raisers, actually playing games, and discussing games. The main goal is to have a casual setting where everyone can come and relax and get to know people with shared interests.
Club Room Description: A room in the library with several TVs, projectors, tables, etc. The room also doesn't have many windows to try and reduce glare.
President: Desco
Members: Puella, Gunvolt, Rebecca, John, Vivi
Advisor: Avery Atchison
